Clear Lake Hospital will be a licensed, general acute care hospital located on a 4.395 acre site with a street address of 200 Blossom St., Webster, Harris County, Texas.
It is designed to offer both inpatient and outpatient services and specific program details include: three medical/surgical floors, operating rooms, Endoscopy Procedure rooms, Emergency Department treatment rooms, ED Pediatric Observation units, Pre Op and PACU/holding areas, ICU and NICU units, and multiple patient bed floors.
Physically, the hospital will consist of a 9-story, concrete frame building, with a glass curtain wall exterior skin and flat, built-up, roofing system. The hospital building will contain approximately 372,988 square feet of net rentable area which will house approximately 176 hospital beds (144 patient beds and 32 ICU beds). The project will include an approximately 674 space parking garage, landscaping, emergency power generation and an oxygen yard.
The hospital building is designed to eventually accommodate eleven floors of structure and a total of 248 beds; moreover, it is also designed to withstand 225-mph winds (well in excess of those generated by a Category 5 hurricane).
The design exceeds Dade County, Florida standards as to air filtration, structural load and wind load; consequently, the facility's design will ensure safe medical care in the future should hurricane conditions similar to those caused by Hurricane Ike impact the region again.
